    Heya folks,

I'm planning on switching a 3D printer I built from 2.85mm to 1.75mm filament, at the moment it has a Volcano hot end setup with the 2.85mm bowden tube. During the transition I plan to pickup one of the new Hemera extruders, and was wondering if I need a new block as well, or if I could get away with just new nozzles as the Hemera comes with a new heatbreak (I plan on switching to direct extrusion as well) but I don't know if there are any other differences that would require me getting a whole new Volcano setup.

    Thanks!

Just to answer my own question, yes the block is the same, you just need a heatbreak and nozzle of the correct filament diameter.

Apologies for the delayed response, yes you can reuse the volcano block as the Hemera retains the M6 hot section of the heatbreak. You are correct in regards to the nozzles, these are filament diameter specific.
