I get z banding caused (I think) by nozzle wobble due to the length of the Volcano. So - any ideas? I am thinking of printing a support for the nozzle that constraints it in both axes, but I am at a loss for what to use as an an insulator between the plastic (ABS/Nylon) support and the volcano. Again - any suggestions?
If this is occurring, your groove mount is likely not tight enough. The right move here is to use a tighter mounting system, not to attempt to secure a 250C+ block of metal.
There seems to be no real standard for the dimensions of the groove mount - and it's manufacturing specs. In a similiar case, I was able to improve the fit by applying a few layers of Kapton tape. Quick and dirty, but effective. What's good for the ISS can't be that bad on earth. Ymmv, though.
