When I last homed the heads all went well but at the home position the IR sensor was flashing on and off and the X-Axis motor was hunting, i.e. tiny movements back and forth.

I guess this may happen now and again if the IR sensor is just being triggered and it may not happen again, but just a question as to whether this is normal and/or if there is a way to fix this?

Maybe this will stop if you move your X-axis end-stop a notch to the right (I mean the hex screw). It is possible that your IR sensor is now sometimes reading the edge of your glass plate.
