Hi, I am commissioning and have got as far as Calibrating Z Offset. After I have set the IR sensor on the belt, the manual says auto home again. At this stage my nozzle is still touching the glass bed? After doing auto home, the nozzle is 0.1mm off the glass and the offset shows 5mm. I know this as when I move the Z axis, if I raise the bed 0.1mm it touches the nozzle. Therefore I then set the offset to 0.00, when I run auto home again the print head returns to X 175 Y 100 Z 0. The next bit of the manual seems to imply that the print head will auto lift to a point off the glass? Thanks
Is it my eyes going funny or if the IR sensor not parallel to the bed? That can effect the reading. Try running a print and see what happens.
I am having this exact issue (frustrating since my old non-hybrid never had this) in getting it to reliably set Z (either grinds in or floats above)
Hello Henry, My 'problem' was that I thought the manual implied it would automatically drop the bed a few mm after auto homing. So that you would need to raise it to find if zero was set correctly. It still doesn't do that.
